What to do in a Trucking Accident

If there’s been a trucking accident, you should immediately contact an attorney. Insurance companies have go teams that can respond within minutes of a call from a trucking company. Evidence is critical and can easily disappear, you want to make sure no stone goes unturned. Recently, we had a case where a woman was rear-ended by a tractor-trailer which resulted in her becoming a quadriplegic, the trucking company representatives told us there was no dash cam in the truck. When we inspected the tractor trailer we found it had been repaired within days of the accident. We also found evidence of suction cup marks on the windshield again, the trucking company denied any dashcam. Upon further investigation we found there was in fact a dash cam in the truck at the time of the accident. We recovered the past footage on the SD card, but noticed something strange, the video from the date of the accident was abruptly cut short and had video from directly after the accident on the card. The trucking company deleted evidence that would have been harmful to its case and lied about the existence of it. Trucking cases can be very complex and involve a lot of moving parts including liability not just for the driver and the trucking company but also the shipper and the broker as well. That’s why it’s important that you speak with an experienced trucking litigation attorney as soon as possible if you were involved in a trucking accident.
